Ft. Hood Shooting Testimony Continues
Published on 10/19/2010
This witness testimony is part of the evidentiary hearing held to determine if Hasan should stand trial for the November 5, 2009, shootings at the Texas base.
Major Hasan is charged with 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder and 13 counts of premeditated murder.
The nine witnesses who gave grueling testimony about the shooting now make a total of 48 witnesses who have testified in the hearing so far.
The latest testimony revealed how brave soldiers waiting for medical screenings prior to shipping out to Afghanistan and Iraq selflessly sacrificed themselves in order to save the lives of others during the rampage.
"All three of these kids just stood their ground. They did not flinch. They were not afraid of him," said witness Theodore Coukoulis, who was working as a nurse at the Army medical building. "All three looked directly at the shooter. They were looking at death and they knew it."
Many of those in attendance wept during the testimony.
This testimony is the first step in determining whether Hasan should be court marshaled and subject to the death penalty.
