Judge to Hear Arizona Immigration Law Case

The new law allows police offices to question the immigration status of people in the course of enforcing other laws. The law also targets businesses that hire illegal immigrants, bans day laborers, and requires immigrants to carry their residency registration documents at all times.
The Justice Department and civil rights groups have filed a lawsuits against the law, which was scheduled to take effect July 29.
Now US District Judge Susan Bolton will weigh the arguments between the state of Arizona and the Justice Department to determine whether or not the law should be blocked.
